Short Description of the institution and department

The mission of the MPG is the investigation of self-organization far from equilibrium in complex biological and hydrodynamic systems, combining expertise from fluid dynamics, soft-condensed matter physics, nonlinear dynamics and theoretical biology. The Biomedical Physics Group is devoted to both analysis of biological and medical processes using physical methodology and facilitation of medical procedures by technical means.

Contribution to the project

The project partner will develop multi-scale, high-resolution fluorescence imaging techniques and advanced multi-modal signal analysis. This contribution will be essential for whole heart optical mapping in WP5 and WP6. The MPG team 5a will develop non-invasive, adaptive multi-site pacing from cardiac heterogeneities, providing a new method for therapeutic targeting of common arrhythmia triggers.
